About The Osteopatriot

My name is Doug, and I am currently a graduate student of Biomedical Science at A.T. Still University.

This blog is a reflection of my thoughts of reverence for and exploration of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as an account of my great, and at times ridiculous, efforts to matriculate into the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine sometime in the following year.

After medical school, I hope to be a part of the great transition occurring in primary care, complete a residency in Family Medicine and establish an Ideal Medical Practice, incorporating accessible technologies, sustainable development, and community awareness in a rural, under-served area in the Northeast.

I am originally from  New Jersey, and am a recent graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Marlyand where I studied Biology. My current research focuses upon the effects of specific hormones on the functions of metastatic cancers.

I like running, homemade blueberry mocha, the Green Bay Packers, driving 6 hours for the first ski run of the season, and a Catholic girl from Camas, Wa.

I hope y’all learn a great deal and enjoy the ride!
